Default Everything about PS1 cheats question pertaining to gameshark codes

I enjoy playing my PSone more than any of my other existing consoles including my PS3. I finally got a gameshark CD after all these years and am currently having a lot of fun accessing boss characters that weren't available in the game. Unfortunately, I have many foreign games and the game shark codes differ slightly or are completely different. Does anyone know how to uncover gameshark codes that aren't listed on the internet or how to fill in the different code?

    800CD36C 0050 vs 800CD5C8 0050
    800CD36E 0050 800CD5CA 0050

There's only a slight difference in these two codes, I wish I knew how to uncover it >_< Any suggestions?

I have no idea what code you're referring to, but it looks like part of a Max Item code, or something to that effect. If that is the case, the code increments by a certain value each "instance", or item slot, and continues the incrementation until it reaches the end of the item database.
Life is a story. Which is the one that defines you?

I think he is asking about region code porting.

code conversion for PS1 is a big IF (somewhat allow, depends on nature of request)

Thank you for your input. Those two codes were just an example but I see what you meant by increasing the number/letters. This is what I'm actually looking for though:

800CD140 ???? is a character modifier code for Darkstalkers. The last four question marks are given on this site already so that you can always be a character or the bosses which is what I want. I suspect the Japanese version is virtually the same except for the "140" in the code. If I can find out that portion of the code then I think I can use those bosses in my Japanese copy (titled Vampire Hunter on this site).

I have the same problem with Star Gladiator (Japan version). The codes featured on this site for US and Japan are very similar except those three code. There's no way I can possibly try trial and error because there's three spaces and 16 symbols in a gameshark code so it would take me forever to know <@_@) There's gotta be a easier way. How else did people figure out gameshark codes in the past right? Trial and error is my last resort and I'll do it if I have to in order to use those bosses ;p

    You're asking for PAL codes?

    The codes here are NTSC.

I don't know if anyone can help me find these codes. It seems so impossible <@_@) This is the code to use a special boss in Star Gladiator for the US (301D867A 0014). However, when I use it for my Japanese copy my characters lower torso is missing haha. The code should be 301D8??? 0014 but I have no idea how to find out what the correct combination is in the question mark area. Same goes for Darkstalkers for PSone. Does anyone know how to find out these mystery codes anymore?

I've done a bit more research and yeah, porting, that's exactly what I'm trying to do but have had no luck thus far. It really is like looking for a needle in a hay stack. I didn't know much about gameshark until this year but I stumbled on a very good faq that gave a lot of insight (http://www.gscentral.org/tools/hackv...ion_code_types). It even mentioned some sort of porting calculator but that's long gone now (SIGH).

SUCCESS!!! I ported the codes and it's great to finally get to use these bosses_^) If anyone has future problems with porting, I basically took the NTSC codes and subtracted a pre-existing code to get a set code. I then used the NTSC code and subtracted the set code to get the missing digits. It was that easy all along ._.' This is probably old news though.

Well I read about PS2 games and how codes worked on it. It's, I guess, similiar than porting the PS2 codes, but I didn't find any tutorials about PS1 games, I'd like to try some of them, especially for FFVII. I mean NTSC (usa) -> PAL game. I wonder if it works at all.
